Brahms' cello sonatas are likely among the most beautiful ever written for the instrument. The publication of the two works in the new Brahms Complete Edition prompted us to release a new Urtext edition of the Sonata in F major.
This classic piece in our catalogue has been newly engraved and reflects current scholarly research. Johannes Behr has also provided extensive details on the work's genesis and this new edition. Both the piano and cello parts feature fingerings, and an unmarked cello part is included as well.
