She has produced over 70 recordings, which include the complete solo piano works as well as all the concertos by Chopin, Brahms, and Rachmaninoff. At the age of fifteen, Biret completed her studies at the Paris Conservatoire, earning three first prizes. She subsequently studied under Alfred Cortot and later Wilhelm Kempff, who regarded her as his most outstanding student. Biret has been honored with numerous accolades, including the Lily Boulanger Memorial in Boston, the Harriet Cohen - Dinu Lipatti gold medal in London, the Chevalier de l'Ordre du Merite in France, and the title of State Artist in Turkey, among many others.
