Description
Franz Schubert's "Moment musicaux" are quite short pieces, shorter even than his "Impromptus." Collected under opus 94, this set of six works showcases a range of moods and moderate technical difficulty, all presented with the Urtext edition's customary scholarly quality.
The first "Moment" in C major, for instance, demonstrates Schubert's mastery of harmony, as the sovereign composer seamlessly navigates through diverse tonal areas within a single movement. Melancholic and blissful melodies, such as those found in the second "Moment," create moments of near-magical beauty. In contrast, the very popular third piece in F minor sparkles with whimsical merriment. The set of six concludes with a plaintive "Song without Words" in A-flat major.
