Mozart: Piano Concerto in G, No.17, K.453 (2 Pianos)

RM 135.90

Description

In 1784, Mozart experienced an extraordinary surge in creativity regarding his piano concertos, composing K.449, 450, 451, and 453 in rapid succession. Following a brief hiatus, he completed K.456 and 459. Notably, during Lent, he dedicated himself to piano performance, resulting in at least 23 concertos documented over just 46 days—a remarkable feat given his simultaneous commitments to composition and teaching. In a letter dated April 10, 1784, he mentioned the completion of K.453, which he had written for his student, Fräulein Ployer. By April 12, he had recorded its incipit in his catalog of works, with the autograph indicating it was composed for Barbara Ployer, marking the second concerto he dedicated to her.
