Description
To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Claude Debussy's birth in 2012, we are proud to present a three-volume tribute to his piano solo works, available in both paperback and hardcover editions. As a publishing house focused on piano music, we felt it was important to give special attention to the works of this pioneering composer. Over the past few decades, we have steadily published single editions of Debussy's major piano compositions, working closely with French Debussy scholar François Lesure to produce high-quality Urtext editions.
These three volumes bring together all the individual works from our catalog, arranging them chronologically from the 1880 "Danse bohémienne" to the Prélude from the cantata "La Damoiselle élue," which we have included as a special "encore" in Volume I. While the collection features many of Debussy's beloved piano masterpieces, it also offers a glimpse into his lesser-known, more modern classical compositions. Each volume also includes a helpful glossary translating Debussy's often evocative performance instructions into both English and German.
