Description
Chopin revolutionized the etude but also ennobled the waltz. He dedicated much of his career to this genre, creating a diverse range of forms - from virtuosic showpieces like the Grandes Valses Brillantes to deeply melancholic atmospheric works. However, these waltzes were not intended for dancing; they were concert pieces. Our volume presents all of Chopin's published waltzes, including iconic masterpieces such as the "Minute Waltz" (Op. 64, No. 1). In cases where multiple authentic versions of a waltz exist, we have included the Urtext of both.
