Description
Chopin's early works showcase a wealth of innovative musical ideas that offer rich insights into the creative genius of this Polish master. Until now, his four Rondos have been absent from our catalogue, but they are now available in a new Henle Urtext edition.
Though unjustly overlooked, these works contain genuine discoveries. It's remarkable that Chopin was just 15 years old when his Opus 1 Rondo in C minor was first published. Similarly, his Rondo Op. 5, which incorporates the exotic sounds of Polish folk music, and the brilliant Rondo in C major Op. 73 were also composed during his time in Warsaw. As the darling of the city's salons, the young composer undoubtedly wrote these pieces as virtuosic showpieces to display his talents. His distinctive musical voice is unmistakable, particularly in the Rondo Op. 16.
