Description

This substantial volume from G. Henle Publishers contains Tchaikovsky's complete works for violin and piano. The three larger violin works - Opus 26, 34, and 42 - are particularly well-known and popular, and are also available in individual practical editions. However, the three brief single movements offer charming adaptations of Tchaikovsky's own pieces, promising to be genuine discoveries.

Tchaikovsky's violin works have long suffered from corrupt musical editions heavily reworked by later violinists. Therefore, it is important that this Urtext edition was prepared by Russian Tchaikovsky specialist Alexander Komarov, who consulted all relevant original sources in international archives to ensure the highest reliability of the musical text. Additionally, violin virtuoso Ingolf Turban provided stylistically appropriate markings in the violin part.
