The temperamental and occasionally virtuoso flow of these Suites is more indicative of the musical language of the young Bach, despite popular belief that the "English Suites" were written after the "French Suites" (from our preamble). The six "English" Suites have an astoundingly wide range of styles and variations. A lifetime is insufficient to fully understand and delve into them. We offer the sustainable musical foundation for this in several formats: the entire clothbound book (HN 101), the complete paperbound volume (HN 100), divided into Nos. 1-3 (HN 102) and Nos. 4-6 (HN 103), and last but not least, a very good value study edition (HN 9100) with the same musical text.
