Description
It is a common misconception that the English Suites were composed subsequent to the French Suites (HN 71). However, the dynamic and somewhat virtuosic nature of these Suites is more representative of the musical style of the young Bach, as noted in our preface. The astonishing diversity found within the six "English" Suites is truly remarkable. A single lifetime is insufficient to fully understand and explore their depths. We offer a robust musical foundation for this exploration in various formats: the complete paperback edition (HN 100), the clothbound version (HN 101), as well as separate volumes for Nos. 1-3 (HN 102) and Nos. 4-6 (HN 103). Additionally, we provide a highly economical study edition featuring the same musical text (HN 9100).
