Description
Telemann's sonatas, published in 1728, are considered "methodical" according to the meaning of the word in his own time. This is because, in addition to the plain melody line given to the soloist in the first movements, they also provide an ornamented variant each time. We recommend this instructive and highly enjoyable music to today's flautists and violinists.
Our new publication is the only one to comprehensively evaluate all available sources. It includes a solo part, a basso continuo part with the two instrumental lines aligned for easy orientation, and a separate part with an unrealized (but figured) bass line. The Henle edition also provides a full score featuring a stylistically appropriate continuo realization.
