Description

At a young age, Mozart's extraordinary talent - widely recognized even then - was attributed to divine inspiration. As children, Mozart and his sister Maria Anna, five years his senior, were celebrated as "Wunderkinder" (prodigies) during their travels across Western Europe from 1763 to 1766.

The piano sonatas "with a violin accompaniment" (K. 6–9), composed in Paris, feature wonderfully fresh and varied music. While the violin adds color, it plays a supportive rather than equal role, unlike in Mozart's later, acclaimed violin sonatas (see HN 77–80). This music is not only ideally suited for piano and violin instruction, but also holds hidden gems for seasoned musicians to discover.
