The "Little Lyrical Pieces," as they are still titled in the earliest editions, are among Grieg's most popular works. Grieg was only 24 years old when these delightful and easily playable miniatures were first published in 1867. Since then, they have accompanied many piano students on their journey towards classical music. Grieg himself could never have imagined that the series would eventually grow to ten books, with the final installment released in 1901.
