Description
Chopin's two piano concertos, composed around 1829/1830, marked the culmination of his student years in Warsaw. These early masterpieces brought him great success on his first concert tours abroad, and their popularity has endured to this day. The e-minor concerto is particularly well-documented, as the Henle Urtext edition of the solo part is based on the composer's authorized first edition from 1833. The piano reduction of the orchestral accompaniment is also closely tied to Chopin's own sources. As a result, the Henle edition provides an authentic and authoritative means to study this core work of the piano concerto repertoire.
