Description
Debussy's Children's Corner (L. 113), a six-movement suite for solo piano, was published in 1908 and dedicated to his three-year-old daughter, Claude-Emma, affectionately known as "Chou-Chou." Although the pieces are inspired by childhood and reflect elements from Claude-Emma's toy collection, they are not specifically designed for child performers. The suite includes notable movements such as Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum, Jimbo's Lullaby, Serenade for the Doll, The Snow is Dancing, The Little Shepherd, and Golliwogg's Cake Walk. An exceptional CD recording of this work is available from the Alfred library.
