Description
Fauré's brilliant masterpiece, "Thème et Variations," is now available in a modern urtext edition. Premiered in London's St. James Hall on December 10, 1896, this vibrant set of variations was published the following year in Paris and London. Unfortunately, no autographs or manuscript copies have survived. The work pays homage to the German tradition, taking Robert Schumann's "Symphonic Etudes" as a particular model for its form and rhythmic vitality.
