Description
The Clavierübung distributed in four segments has a place to the few works of Bach that he permitted to be printed amid his lifetime. Portion I, which showed up in print in 1731, contains the six Partitas; Parts II–IV were issued in 1735, 1739 and 1741/2. These are the parts that shape the premise for the compilation that we discover in this volume.
The Italian Concerto and the French Suggestion constitute Portion II and, in a way, serve as a kind of reverberate of French and Italian symphonic music of the time, here transposed to the console. The Four Two part harmonies are contained in Portion III of the Clavierübung, another to critical works for the organ; be that as it may, since they are conceived for two parts, they are perfect for piano or harpsichord.
