Description
Schumann's three late violin sonatas include his famous and wonderful Sonata No. 1 in A minor, Op. 105, which he composed in just a few days in September 1851. Violinist Florian Sonnleitner remarked that he loves to play this sonata, as it is "very compact in form, and in the merciless key of A minor, [making it] one of the most direct mirrors of Schumann's inner life." The Henle Urtext edition is based on Schumann's autograph and working copy of the first printing.
