Description

Viola Mix is an original series of new viola arrangements spanning a variety of musical styles. Book 1 offers an attractive repertoire at the Initial to Grade 1 level, including well-known pieces like 'Autumn' from The Four Seasons and 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' from Mary Poppins, as well as new tunes such as 'Gavotta' by Ignatius Sancho and the traditional American song 'Let us chase the squirrel'.

The series has been compiled by string specialists Kathy and David Blackwell, covering the musical and technical elements of the early grades across three progressive volumes. Many of the arrangements will be featured on the ABRSM Viola syllabus from 2024, and all make ideal choices for Performance Grade exams. Each piece includes a piano accompaniment, and many also feature viola accompaniments and guitar chords, providing useful flexibility for students and teachers."
