Description
No other major composer produced as extensive a body of work for piano duet as Franz Schubert, who left behind 54 such pieces (32 of which were published with opus numbers), encompassing a wide range of genres including fantasias, dances, marches, variations, rondos, and sonatas. Music-making was a cherished pastime among Schubert's social circle, and these works remain beloved by pianists today. The three-volume Henle Urtext edition of Schubert's four-hand piano compositions presents the pieces in chronological order.
