The URTEXT edition of the masterpieces by this prominent Mexican composer of the twentieth century is now available, previously known only through Segovia's revisions. Ponce created most of his guitar works during his time in Paris, which were later published by Schott, resulting from a significant collaboration with Andrés Segovia that notably influenced these compositions. Current sources indicate that there is only one manuscript version of each of the four pieces by Ponce, often quite fragmentary. In accordance with the publisher, this new edition is entirely based on Ponce's original manuscripts, featuring commentary in both Spanish and English, along with excerpts from the correspondence between Ponce and Segovia.
Edition Schott showcases a diverse array of music, providing a comprehensive library that caters to students, amateur musicians, and professionals alike. The catalog spans from the Renaissance to contemporary works, encompassing solo instruments and orchestral pieces, featuring both renowned compositions and intriguing rarities.
