Description
The Exploring Piano Classics series combines engaging performance pieces with insightful technical exercises, offering a comprehensive learning experience for students. Each level features a Repertoire book, complete with recordings, alongside a Technique book, both designed for easy page-by-page reference. Together, these resources foster a profound appreciation for music, performance techniques, and the essential skills required for proficient piano playing. The Repertoire books showcase selections from significant musical eras, carefully curated and graded according to festival, competition, and examination standards from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, while also providing contextual information about each style period, its instruments, composers, and the music itself.
Level 6 includes online recordings of the repertoire, performed by the esteemed clinician and educator Nancy Bachus, which serve as a vital resource for achieving accurate musical interpretation. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a Master’s in Piano Performance and Literature, Bachus has showcased her talent through solo recitals across the United States, Canada, and Italy, and has participated in prestigious events such as the original "Monster Concerts" at renowned venues like Lincoln Center and the White House. The repertoire features a diverse array of works, including pieces by composers such as Pescetti, Grieg, Beethoven, and Chopin, providing students with a rich and varied musical foundation.
