Description
George Frideric Handel's powerful musical personality is evident not only in his grand operatic, oratorio, and orchestral works, but also in his keyboard compositions. This edition focuses on Handel's first published collection of eight Suites from 1720, which depart from the typical standardized dance movement sequences. Instead, these suites feature free-form movements of substantial artistic merit interspersed among the lighter dance pieces. Handel's suites consistently exhibit a distinctive individuality that deserves greater recognition in concert programming. We are pleased to present this Urtext edition edited by Handel specialist Anthony Hicks.
