Description
This 1905 edition of the three-part collection is derived from Fritz Kreisler's initial version and subsequent piano transcriptions by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The harmonies, chromatic progressions, and counterpoint in the piano arrangements are preserved, allowing the original and the transcription to merge into a compelling and virtuosic solo work. The Viennese three-four time signature necessitates a subtle flexibility in tempo, free from strict metronomic limitations.
