Description
The Flex-Ability series caters to a variety of musical configurations, including solos, duets, trios, quartets, and larger ensembles, encompassing woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion, and an optional rhythm section. It features an accompanying play-along CD and is designed to be accessible for musicians of all skill levels, making it suitable for enjoyment at home, in educational settings, or within community groups.
The four-line score is structured to accommodate different levels of proficiency, with the first line presenting the melody at an intermediate level of 2½ to 3, incorporating sixteenth-note patterns and rock/jazz syncopation. The second line offers harmony at a level of 2 to 2½, featuring a broader range and easy syncopation with sixteenth notes. The third line provides harmony at a level of 1½, with a limited range and dotted rhythms, including some eighth-quarter-eighth syncopation. Finally, the bass line, at level 1, consists of simple eighth-note rhythms and alternate note suggestions.
The CD accompaniment, sold separately, includes two tracks for each piece: a full performance track and a rhythm section-only track for practice with various ensemble sizes. Featured titles include popular songs such as "Alegria," "American Idiot," "Because of You," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "Gonna Fly Now," "Hedwig's Theme," "Hips Don't Lie," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "The New Girl in Town," "We Are Family," and "Wonka's Welcome Song."
