American composer Amy Beach (1867–1944) developed her musical prowess largely through self-directed study, ultimately forging a distinguished career. This collection of her piano works features a selection of the refined and stylish miniatures that characterize her output. Among the pieces included are the Ballad, Op. 6, several Sketches from Op. 15, the Barcarolle from Op. 25, the Scottish Legend from Op. 54, and two notable works, From Blackbird Hills (An Omaha Tribal Dance), Op. 92, No. 2, and From Grandmother's Garden, Op. 97.
