Description
When Maria Anna Mozart, known as Nannerl, began taking piano lessons, her father gave her a music book in which he and others gradually wrote down short recital pieces. Her younger brother, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, soon acquired the book from his older sister. From a young age, Wolfgang displayed a remarkable talent for composing, prompting his father to record the boy's first works in this same music book.
This "Nannerl Music Book" contains 17 pieces written by the young Mozart between the ages of five and eight. The compositions are easy to play, making them ideal for beginner pianists. Our edition is taken from the complete volume of Mozart's Piano Pieces (HN 22) and includes a new preface by editor Ullrich Scheideler, written specifically for students.
