Description
In 1889, Dvorak communicated with his publisher in Berlin regarding the creation of the "Poetic Tone Pictures," expressing confidence that they would appreciate the works. He noted, "Each piece is titled and intended to convey a specific description..."
The titles of the individual pieces reflect the inspirations that motivated Dvorak's writing: the personal impressions and emotions stirred by his admiration for the natural beauty of the Vysoka countryside, where the compositions were crafted, as well as memories of its history.
Dvorak encapsulated all these elements in a collection of 13 piano pieces, where the vitality of the music harmonizes with the poetic depth of the ideas and the vibrant piano textures.
