Description

For more than a century, Clementi's Six Sonatas, Op. 4 were mistakenly published under the incorrect title, Sonatinas, Opp. 37 and 38. Nevertheless, when Clementi originally released these two-movement compositions, he referred to them as Six Sonatas for Pianoforte or Harpsichord, Op. 4. These sonatas serve as an outstanding supplementary resource to the Six Sonatinas, Op. 36, offering intermediate students a superb introduction to the early Classical style. Interpretive suggestions are provided.
