Description
Edward Elgar's "Salut d'amour" is one of the British composer's most hauntingly melodic works. This short piece held special significance for Elgar, as it was composed in 1888 for his bride-to-be, Caroline Alice Roberts, with whom he had a blossoming teacher-pupil relationship since 1886. Initially titled "Liebesgruß" in German, "Salut d'amour" was published in 1889, the same year Elgar and Roberts were married. We are now republishing this immortal, moderately difficult classic in its original versions for violin and piano, cello and piano (HN 1189), and piano solo (HN 1190).
