Description
These teaching pieces, gathered from various sources, were published individually in the 18th and 19th centuries under the titles Twelve Short Preludes and Six Short Preludes. Typically, students encounter these works before delving into the Two-Part Inventions (Alfred Edition 22528). This particular edition features ornament realizations and offers insights on tempo and articulation. The Alfred Masterwork Library CD Editions pair each remarkable volume with a professionally recorded CD, designed to inspire exceptional performances.
Pianist Kim O'Reilly Newman earned her Master of Music degree from the University of Illinois and has performed extensively across North America and Europe with the Hambro Quartet of Pianos. She has also served as an editor and recording pianist for Alfred Music. A brain tumor survivor, Kim now focuses on performing music specifically arranged for the left hand.
