Description
Beethoven created his Symphony in B flat major in 1806, a notably prolific year during which he also composed several other significant pieces, including the 4th Piano Concerto and the Violin Concerto. Despite its historical popularity and frequent performances throughout the 19th century, this symphony is often unfairly eclipsed by its more renowned counterparts, the “Eroica” and the 5th Symphony. This edition, featuring a preface by editor Bathia Churgin, is derived from the musical text of the Beethoven Complete Edition and is part of our ongoing series of study editions of Beethoven's symphonies, presented in a user-friendly format.
