Description
While George Frideric Handel pioneered innovative vocal works, his instrumental compositions, including his seven violin sonatas, were more conventional in style. Composed at different times rather than as a cohesive set, these violin sonatas nevertheless exude a vibrant freshness and abundance of Handel's signature melodies. Fully-realized thoroughbass sonatas, they exemplify the composer's mastery of the instrumental medium, despite his more experimental approach to vocal genres.
