Description
During his lifetime, the composer, piano manufacturer, and publisher Ignaz Pleyel produced an astonishingly prolific number of published compositions, many of which were issued in multiple arrangements. While much of this vast output has faded from the modern repertoire, a selection of Pleyel's works for small chamber ensembles has endured. Among the pieces that have retained popularity are several violin duos, particularly the "Little Duos in Increasing Difficulty," which were published in 1806 "at the urging of several teachers," according to the original title page. Now, for the first time, G. Henle Publishers presents these accessible performance pieces in a definitive Urtext edition, offering both a full score and separate parts to facilitate their use in a variety of settings.
