Description
Mozart was a pioneer of works for piano four-hands, likely encouraged by his music-making on the harpsichord with his sister, as depicted in the famous family portrait by della Croce (1780/81). Our edition comprises all of Mozart's authentic sonatas and variations for piano four-hands, as well as works that have survived only as fragments and were later completed. Additionally, the volume contains a sonata attributed to Mozart and three four-part compositions originally written for mechanical organ or with no specified instrument. This thorough revision (previously HN 92 and 93) incorporates new sources and the latest scholarly research on Mozart's piano four-hand compositions.
