Description
Beethoven's two short, unpretentious sonatinas in G major and F major were published around 1807, during his lifetime. Despite their striking beauty, these works have since been attributed to other composers and are not considered part of Beethoven's official opus catalog. Instead, they are listed in his catalogue of works as "Anhang/Appendix 5". This Urtext edition features fingerings provided by Walther Lampe, a piano pupil of Clara Schumann who later taught Günter Henle, the founder of the music publishing company. Henle himself praised Lampe as an "outstanding performing pianist" and one of the leading piano pedagogues of his era.
