Description
As part of the Belwin Master Solos series and developed under the guidance of Keith Snell, each folio comprises a compilation of graded solos that are intended to serve as a valuable resource for both students and educators.
Each folio features works from the Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical eras, along with folk songs and traditional melodies, as well as a section dedicated to original compositions. For students, these solos offer material that presents specific challenges in rhythm, range, and key signatures, all within music that is both educational and enjoyable to perform.
Each solo has been carefully chosen and arranged to challenge students in various aspects of technique and musicianship while also providing exposure to a diverse array of musical styles that are pleasurable to play. Furthermore, particular emphasis has been placed on crafting accompaniments that are straightforward to perform yet simultaneously enhance the interest of the solo parts. These are available in easy, intermediate, and advanced levels, similar to the Belwin Master Duets. The collection includes: Allegretto Grazioso op. 13, No. 3 (Schubert) * Aria from "L' Allegro (Come and Trip It as You Go) (Handel) * The Cuckoo (Swiss Folk Song) * Mazurka op. 7, No. 1 (Chopin) * The Nightingale Polka (Nolan) * Nocturne (Tyndall) * Passepied (Campra) * Rondo Capriccio (Snell). This selection is part of the Federation Festivals 2020-2024.
