Description
The immense success of Max Bruch's first violin concerto led him to a state of near despair, as he expressed to his publisher, "I cannot listen to this concerto any more." This overwhelming popularity overshadowed his other compositions, which is a misconception, particularly evident in Kol Nidrei, the adagio based on Hebrew melodies, Op. 47. Composed in 1881, this piece showcases Bruch's deep appreciation for folk music and is characterized by its passionate and warm tonal qualities.
