Bärenreiter's Easy Concertos is a fresh collection of the most beloved short concertos for violinists eager to start playing in front of an audience. The series starts with pieces by composers Rieding, Seitz, and Vivaldi, which are clearly popular choices among the initial solo concertos performed.
Countless arrangements and transcriptions allow the Czardas by Vittorio Monti (1868–1922) to shine in ever new tonal colours – yet the original version for violin and accompaniment stands unchallenged in terms of popularity. The fiery dance for the violin almost made its creator a “one-hit wonder”, although Monti was far more prolific as a composer. This work accompanies violinists throughout their lives: as their virtuosity grows, even advanced players find ever new technical and musical challenges within it.
This collection of eight diverse and engaging violin pieces offers young players a wide range of musical styles, from a lively tango to a romantic Andalusian melody. The ability to play all pieces in first position provides an accessible entry point, while the inclusion of more advanced bowing techniques and articulations helps build the player's confidence and skills.
