The book titled 'My Guitar Method Book 1' is designed for beginners with the assistance of a teacher. Unlike many traditional classical guitar methods, this approach emphasizes practical guitar playing, enabling learners to grasp a straightforward notation system without extensive verbal explanations or theoretical concepts at the outset. This notation system, referred to as 'tablature' or 'TAB', has been utilized in various forms since the sixteenth century. Through this method, students will initially focus on standard finger placement and plucking exercises, employing a more effective technique to establish foundational finger skills for future advancement. Following several lessons on techniques for both hands, students will begin to learn how to read standard notation and apply it to their guitar playing. Additionally, the book includes fundamental theory, basic chord strumming, and sight-reading exercises.
The second book includes several solo guitar compositions by renowned composers such as Ferdinando Carulli, Fernando Sor, Matteo Carcassi, Gaspar Sanz, among others. Through duet exercises, students will develop their ability to play in harmony with others, enhancing their ear training and improving their group performance skills in the future. It is essential for young learners to be acquainted with the lives of the distinguished composers who have contributed to our enjoyment of beautiful music; therefore, the book presents brief biographical sketches of these notable figures to enhance the educational experience.
