Description
The key works in the repertoire for unaccompanied violin are now available in urtext editions from Henle. This includes Johann Sebastian Bach's sonatas and partitas, Nicolò Paganini's caprices, and Eugène Ysaÿe's op. 27 sonatas. Ysaÿe composed these challenging works with extraordinary technical demands, dedicating each one to a virtuoso violinist of his time and tailoring it to suit their specific capabilities. Thanks to newly discovered source material, the resulting "definitive text" from Henle supersedes the previously available version from the first edition in many respects.
