Description

Antonín Dvorák's chamber music output comprises over forty works. His music quickly gained popularity beyond his native Bohemia, thanks in part to the many discerning music aficionados who enjoyed playing his compositions. In the 19th century, domestic music-making was widespread, and Dvorák's Romantic Pieces for violin and piano, Op. 75, were intended for private performance in such settings. Our Urtext edition of Op. 75 is based on Dvorák's autograph manuscript and features a preface detailing the work's genesis, which began as a string trio. For this edition, we were fortunate to engage Dvorák specialist Milan Pospísil as the editor.
