Description

Poulenc completed the sonata in 1962, but he unfortunately passed away before it could be definitively engraved, resulting in an initial edition published a year later that contained several unclear notational elements. Although there have been various revisions since then, this edition, skillfully edited by Sachania, strives to present a clear, playable, and authoritative score that closely aligns with Poulenc's original intentions.

This new version incorporates accidentals that may have been intended by Poulenc, indicated within square brackets, along with cautionary accidentals and the removal of unnecessary ones. Additionally, it features adjustments such as the redistribution of notes across the piano staves and the extension of slurs to include tied notes, differing from the previous edition. Throughout the editing process, Sachania has focused on creating a score that is both accurate and reflective of what Poulenc envisioned.
