The 'Easy Concert Pieces' series offers a diverse collection of accessible concert works for flute and piano, spanning from the Renaissance and Baroque to the Classical and modern periods. To assist in selecting pieces for performances, auditions, and examinations, the works are categorized by their musical and technical complexity. Volume 1 (ED 22925) features very easy to easy compositions with a note range of up to two octaves, characterized by melodic simplicity and basic breathing techniques, complemented by clear piano accompaniments. Volume 2 (ED 22926) presents easy to intermediate pieces with more vibrant melodies, requiring a broader note range and attention to intonation, as well as the introduction of dotted rhythms, syncopations, and simple ornaments that demand precision. Volume 3 (ED 22927) challenges players with the full range of the flute, emphasizing advanced finger techniques and imaginative phrasing, incorporating a variety of dynamics, tone colors, articulation, and agogic phrasing in collaboration with the piano. All pieces are available on the accompanying CD in both full and play-along formats.
