Description
Sergie Prokofiev, a Ukrainian composer, wrote a powerful and poignant Sonata for Two Violins. The themes of the four brief movements—lyrical, playful, fantastical, and violent—are all powerful. Prokofiev's state at the time of composition is reflected in the warmer style and highly effective sequence: his work became more embracing after his trips to the West away from Russia, as opposed to the confrontational and biting scores of his youth.
