Description
Joseph Bodin de Boismortier was a highly successful composer in his lifetime, but many of his over 100 works have been forgotten today. However, his Duo Sonatas for string or wind instruments continue to enjoy great popularity, especially among teachers and students.
With this new Urtext edition of Boismortier's Six Sonatas Op. 14, G. Henle Verlag is expanding its repertoire of technically-accessible string chamber music. The edition presents the works in score format, allowing players to spontaneously swap parts when repeating sections. Additionally, a second score includes fingerings and bowings added by Thomas Klein, enabling less advanced cellists to more easily engage with these delightful French Baroque pieces.
This Henle publication closely follows the first edition published in Paris in 1726, providing an authoritative source for performers.
