Description
Though a minor work compared to Dvorák's renowned Cello Concerto, his Rondo op. 94 is an effective and entertaining piece that deserves a place in every cellist's standard repertoire. Dvorák composed the Rondo in December 1891, shortly before departing for America, and premiered it on January 3, 1892 with his friend, the cellist Hanus Wihan, during his farewell concert tour. In producing this urtext edition, Milan Pospísil consulted the autograph score and first edition not only for the piano version, but also for the orchestral version from October 1893.
