This collection consists of forty-three brief compositions by masters of the baroque, classical, and romantic periods, intended for students in their third and fourth years of study, reaching up to the fourth position. It is an ABRSM syllabus title for the years 2010-16, Grade 5.

The volumes within the Music for Beginners series encompass the complete spectrum of music literature from the earliest times to the present day. The content of each volume, featuring short and simple pieces suitable for the first three to four years of instrumental study, has been curated by skilled music educators. Notably, many of the contemporary works included in these volumes are being published in this series for the first time.
