Description
The early keyboard compositions by Haydn were initially referred to as Divertimentos or Sonatas, but their concise structure led to a subsequent renaming. Each piece typically consists of two to four movements, encapsulating the core elements of Haydn's musical style. Among these works, the "Sonatina in G Major," Hob. XVI/8 stands out as the most recognized, yet all of them merit attention as foundational studies in preparation for the sonatas of both Mozart and Haydn.
