Description
When discussing Beethoven's contributions to piano music, it is often his sonatas that are foremost in people's thoughts. Nevertheless, his other compositions for the piano hold equal importance. It is therefore not surprising that Beethoven assigned an opus number to most of his Bagatelles, as this reflects a level of esteem for these works. They showcase a lighter, more approachable aspect of Beethoven's artistry, challenging the overly simplistic view of him as solely a composer of profound and serious music.
